- Grandmaster Kim Soo once judged Chuck Norris in a martial arts tournament in America.
- Grandmaster Kim Soo was invited by Ed Parker to attend the 1964 International Karate Championship tournament in Long Beach, California. This was the same tournament where Bruce Lee debuted, and Grandmaster is pictured in the program next to Bruce Lee.
- At age 72, Grandmaster Kim Soo is still teaching Chayon-Ryu martial arts in Busan, South Korea and Houston, Texas, USA. He continues to produce instructional films.
