Ty Fanning is an actor originally from Mustang, Oklahoma. He earned a BFA in Acting from Oklahoma City University.
Upon graduating, Fanning landed the lead role in the independent feature film "Hollis", which went on to screen at festivals around the world before streaming on Amazon.
A classically trained actor, Fanning has performed in more than 30 Shakespeare productions over the course of his career, including the title role in "Hamlet" at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts and Romeo in "Romeo & Juliet" at the Utah Shakespeare Festival. He also enjoyed five seasons at American Players Theatre.
In Chicago, Fanning made a mark at some of the city's most prestigious theaters. He appeared in the world premiere of "Lindiwe" at Steppenwolf Theatre Company, the Chicago premiere of "Teenage Dick" at Theater Wit, and numerous productions at Chicago Shakespeare Theater.
In 2021 he relocated to New York where his Off-Broadway credits include the world premiere of Jen Silverman's "Spain" at Second Stage and "Crooked Cross" at The Mint. In 2025, Fanning made his Broadway debut in the highly anticipated production of "Othello", directed by Kenny Leon and starring Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal.
On the screen, Fanning's credits include "Chicago Med", "Search Party", and the Comedy Central film "Hot Mess Holiday". He is set to appear in the upcoming feature film "Bolio: Spirit of the Mustang" alongside Tony Shalhoub.
