Biography

Doug is from Allentown, PA. His first exposure to acting was at the age of 13 when he appeared on stage for his 8th grade school play. He attended William Allen High School while continuing to attend acting training courses and did some theatrical work as well as a few small television and film roles. He was friends with other Hollywood notables from Allentown at the time, Irene Ng and Christine Taylor to name a few.

His acting career did not really start to take form until mid-late 2011 after some military service and a relocation to South Florida. He has recently appeared on USA Network's hit series, Burn Notice and has also appeared on the season 2 season finale of the A&E hit show, "The Glades."

As of April, 2026 he resides in Florida while continuing to pursue his acting career. He is looking forward to further television and screen credits in the very near future.

In addition to traditional acting training Doug has trained in stunt work and has an extensive and diverse background in martial arts.

Douglas Sofranko found his love for acting at a young age performing in school plays. However, it was not until his thirties when he made his first screen appearances: a recurring appearance on the USA Network series, "Burn Notice" as a bartender and as a SWAT Police Officer on A&E's hit series, "The Glades".

Doug splits his time between Los Angeles and his original hometown of Allentown, Pennsylvania (home to other Hollywood celebrities such as Amanda Seyfried and Christine Taylor).

He is a U.S. military veteran and received his honorable discharge in 2012. Since then, he has been enjoying time with his family and looks to begin appearing in acting roles again in the near future (looking to movies rather than television appearances).

He has special talent and training in stunts and in unarmed and armed combat choreography.

Doug graduated from William Allen High School in Allentown, PA one year after Nickelodeon child star, Irene Ng, from, "The Mystery Files as Shelby Woo". The two were good friends and were both in the schools NJROTC program together.
