Debbie Y.J. Lin

Classically trained in piano and voice, Debbie YJ Lin is an artist-filmmaker and founder/co-curator of Video Sound Archive. She graduated cum laude from The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music and was the recipient of The UCLA Women for Change and Chancellor’s Service Award. After obtaining two master's degrees from The New School of Public Engagement and Berklee College of Music, Lin returned to LA to commence her formal artistic practice in blending lyrical poem performances with abstract painting, live improvised vocalizations, and site-specific video sound installations. In 2021, she was awarded the inaugural California Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowship Grant.
