Mini bio

  • Kamyar Jahan is an actor whose television credits include High Potential, 9-1-1, Portlandia, and I Think You Should Leave. He began pursuing acting professionally in 2012 after booking a role on Leverage while working as a model in Portland, Oregon. He went on to study film at Portland State University, earning a BA with a major in Film and a minor in Fine Art. His acting training includes study at Annie Grindlay Studio in Los Angeles, as well as with actors and teachers Ted Rooney and the late Robert Blanche in Portland.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, to Iranian parents, Jahan spent portions of his childhood in the United States and Iran before settling in Portland, where he lived for a little over a decade. In 2019, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting full-time.

Jahan is a series regular on The Promised Land, a biblical-era mockumentary centered on Moses and the Israelites’ journey to the Promised Land, in which he portrays Nahshon, leader of the tribe of Judah. The second season was announced to be filming in Morocco. His most recent credits include Season 3 of Lioness, in which he has a Top of Show role, and Wishful Thinking, which received the top prize at SXSW.

Outside of acting, Jahan has been drawing and painting since childhood, with a particular interest in stylistic realism with a slight fantastical twist. He also has a lifelong passion for tennis and played varsity in high school.
