American film, television and theatre actor, Shadow C. LaValley is a grounded, quietly intense actor known for bringing deep emotional complexity to every role. Whether portraying a conflicted loner or a man on the edge of transformation, Shadow’s stillness carries weight, and his performances linger long after the scene ends.

With training from the Gloria Gifford Conservatory and a background rooted in nature, discipline, and precision driving, he brings real-world grit and emotional honesty to the screen. He’s been compared to actors like Rami Malek, Alan Rickman, and Harrison Ford - all known for stillness, sharpness, and depth.

Shadow thrives in roles that demand internal fire: villains with purpose, outsiders with wounds, men torn between who they are and who they could become. His personal mantra - "Emotional lives in the silence" - isn’t just branding. It’s how he works. It’s how he lives.

Shadow is both an award winning actor and filmmaker, born and raised in central New York. Shadow is a graduate of both the State University of New York at Morrisville as well as the State University of New York at Oneonta.

Shadow's performance career got off the ground and running when he was approached by his Mother during his final year of high school. Another high school student had dropped out of the role of Will Parker in the school's musical "Oklahoma!" After some convincing, Shadow accepted the role of Will and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Once graduated from high school and having tried a semester of college, Shadow chased his childhood dream of auto-racing. Having lived that lifestyle for a few years, he moved back to his hometown to help his Mother take care of his Mimay (aka Grandmother) during her final years of life. After being home for only a few months, Shadow was approached by his former high school choir teacher Meredith Hudson to fill the vacant role of Jonathan Brewster for "Arsenic and Old Lace." Without hesitation, Shadow accepted the role of Jonathan and has been performing ever since.

Shadow grew up in a small town named Columbus, which was the very first town ever named Columbus in the United States.

Fascinated at a young age by NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt, Shadow starting out his racing career in go-karts at the age of 9. He continued his pursuit of racing all the way up to the beginning of 2009 where he ended his auto racing career as a "driver-in-training" for a NASCAR truck series team.

After a year of battling alcoholism, depression, and suicidal tendencies in 2008, Shadow moved back home to help his Mom take care of his Mimay during her final years (2009-2015). During that time, Shadow tore down his former thoughts, ideas, opinions, and views to restructure his life. At the end of the process, Shadow realized that he needed to change his name to prevent any relapse into his former negative lifestyle. Taking his Mom's maiden name (LaValley) and moving his original first name to his middle name (Christopher), he struggled for a bit to figure out what to have as his first name. As Shadow would say: "I wanted to take a positive piece of my past and implement it into my future. Knowing that I grew up in the country, I had very few opportunities to spend time with kids my own age. I never had a typical childhood growing up like you would see on television or in the movies. On a typical day for me, my sisters would be off playing, my Mom would be taking care of the house, bills, lesson plans, and the like, my Dad would be out and about, so at the end of the day it was just me and the dog Shadow. So I thought, what a beautiful way to honor his memory and that part of my life.".

Shadow was cast by Ben Stiller for a role in the Showtime limited series Escape at Dannemora. After learning of an open casting call, he made a dedicated effort, traveling over four hours to audition. As one of the final actors to be seen, Shadow impressed Stiller with his performance and was brought on to the project. During his time on set, he had the opportunity to work alongside acclaimed actress Bonnie Hunt. This role ultimately earned Shadow his SAG-AFTRA eligibility.

A testament to Shadow's dedication and determination came in July 2025, when he learned that his father's cancer had returned and his presence was urgently needed. Without hesitation, Shadow drove from Los Angeles to Central New York, stopping only once for a brief 10-hour rest in Lincoln, Nebraska. He completed the cross-country journey in just over two days, covering the distance in approximately 53 hours.
