Joel Potter investigated the 5 July 1998 disappearance of
Irene Silverman.
Sante Kimes and
Kenneth Kimes - who had Silverman's passport and other documents in their possession when they were arrested - were convicted in 2000 of murdering Silverman, and sentenced to 120 years each in prison. Their motive was to take ownership of Silverman's $7 million Upper East Side brownstone.
