- Cadena grew up in Los Angeles during the mid-seventies. Cadena was a PhD candidate with Abilene Christian University. He studied leadership in Education. Cary holds a Master's in Education from The University of the Incarnate Word and a Bachelor's in History from Texas A&M University. He has written several screenplays including stories about Chipita Rodriguez, the last woman hung in Texas, Don Pedrito, a folkloric healer, and a WWll story regarding the huge paratrooper drop during D-Day, titled, "A Season In Hell". Cadena published his first novel in 2019 with Amazon Publishing. "The Curandero" is based on the life and times of Don Pedro Jaramillo, the Texas legend and Healer. Cadena's second book is titled, "Cursed The Legend of Chipita Rodriguez", available on Amazon (2024).
