Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Michael is the son of actor
James Anthony and actress Judi
Mann. Zaughan began working as a film score composer for independent
St. Louis filmmakers at the age of 14, becoming a professional composer
at age 16 when he wrote and recorded orchestral break music for a
professional stage production of
Clifford Odets's The Country Girl.
