- Rob Janas got his start at Second City Chicago writing three reviews on their resident stages, including the highly regarded Pratfall of Civilization. After moving to Los Angeles, he found work as an animation writer at Warner Brothers Studios, writing for shows like New Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry in New York, and Bugs Bunny Builders. He has also written scripts for Splash Entertainment/Universal’s Woody Woodpecker and The LEGO Group’s LEGO City Adventures. As a staff writer on New Looney Tunes he wrote an episode featuring Guns N' Roses lead singer Axl Rose, who performed Rob’s original song "Rock the Rock," Axl’s first recording in over ten years. He’s written, directed and starred in many short films - including The Clinic, an official selection of the 2010 L.A. Comedy Shorts Film festival. He was also involved with the development of the feature film One for the Road produced by legendary director Wong Kar-wai. His screenplay for the feature film The Sugar Shack is currently in development with an independent production company. His all-original sketch show When the World's on Fire Make S'mores premiered at the Fanatic Salon Theater in 2023 and the sequel When the World's STILL on Fire Make MORE S'mores was written and performed a year later. He recently wrote and performed on the podcast Mr. Johnson's Time Machine with Dan Bakkedahl from Veep. His show, The Rob Janas Traveling Sketch Comedy Show was nominated for three awards at the 30 minutes or less fest in Los Angeles. Critics called it "Raunchy, controversial humor." His new project "Your Sketch Show" runs regularly at the Broadwater Stage in Los Angeles.
