Biography

Ukyo Katayama was born on May 29, 1963 in Tokyo, Japan.

Ex-Formula One racing driver, who raced for: Larrousse (1992 (14 GPs)), Tyrrell (1993- (16 GPs)-1994 (16 GPs)-(1995 (16 GPs)-1996 (16 GPs)) and Minardi (1997 (17 GPs)). He started 95 Grands Prix and 7 Points. Best ranked in the World Championship: 17th in 1994.

Teammates in Formula One were: Bertrand Gachot, Andrea de Cesaris, Mark Blundell, Mika Salo, Jarno Trulli and Tarso Marques.

Champion: Japanese Formula 3000 (1991), Japanese FJ1600 (1984).
