Biography

  • Magali was born, Magali Angela Pineda Widmer, in Ibiza, Spain, to Parents, Petra Iris Widmer, a psychological psychotherapist and yoga teacher, and Adonis Pineda Cabrera, an artist. She has a younger brother, Chesney, and an older sister, Naomi. She is of Sub-Saharan African and Ashkenazi Jewish (European) ancestry.

Magali has called Los Angeles home since 2008. Throughout her career, she has become known for work that stands apart for its distinctness, passion and honesty. After a lifetime of fierce studying of the performing arts, Magali has built a reputation for fine-tuning the minutest details, that can sharpen a scene or character to perfection. She got a lead role, in one of ten short films produced, as part of the Studio 4 Master Class: "Sex Scenes" taught by James Franco. He offered her a role in his next film, The Long Home (2018). She had a brief role in this film, but it was enough to impact Magali's purpose as an actress.

Magali has studied the performing arts at numerous professional acting institutions. Everywhere she's studied, she has been incredibly blessed to meet amazing instructors and fellow actors, who share her passion for unique storytelling. Each of these places has left an incredibly strong mark on her career, and she would not be the performer she is today, without the fellowship of her amazing colleagues and fellow students.

Magali is the co-founder of Frame 12 Productions, partners include Wayan Blue Palmieri (a well-known Hollywood editor) and Miguel Angelo Pate a recognized assistant director, with Quentin Tarantino.

Magali has co-produced movies such Vagabonds (2017), starring Danny Glover.

In 2017, Magali won a Telly award for producing the music video for Daniel Bambaata Marley's (Bob Marley's grandson) single, "Waiting for the War".
