Biography

  • Aziz Acar is a Turkish dubbing director, casting director, and voice-over artist with more than 30 years of experience in broadcast localization, post-production, and voice performance. He began his professional career at TRT (Turkish Radio and Television Corporation), Turkey’s national public broadcaster, where he trained for seven years as an assistant under some of the most respected dubbing directors in the industry. During this period, he worked on a wide range of Turkish and international films, television series, and documentaries. Among the notable productions he contributed to were the classic TV series Alf and Bonanza, broadcast in Turkey in the late 1980s. In 1996, Acar joined Doğuş Yayın Grubu, where he served for 29 years as Director of the Dubbing and Translation Department, overseeing large-scale dubbing, subtitling, and localization projects across multiple television channels and genres. Fluent in English and Arabic, he has been performing professional Arabic voice-over work since 1990. In addition to his directing and casting work, he provided narration for international sports programming, including La Liga (2008-2017) and La Liga World (2012-2017), and was the signature voice of NTV Spor Smart. Alongside his industry work, Aziz Acar is an experienced educator, delivering lectures on diction, articulation, intonation, and dubbing. He has taught dubbing and voice performance at Dialog Anlatım İletişim since 2008 and Istanbul Technical University since 2011. He currently leads the dubbing and subtitling operations for DMAX and TLC, affiliate channels of Discovery Networks in Turkey.
