- Alix Whittaker is a sixth generation pākehā with ancestry leading back to Scotland, Ireland and England. Alix is a queer cis woman, a mother, and a plant based witch who lives in a fairytale garden in Tāmaki Makaurau.
Her first Feature Film as a producer, 'Mum, I'm Alien Pregnant' premiered at Sundance in 2026.
Prior to this, Alix produced over 100 music videos and short films, notably including THUNDERLIPS' Sheep, Dog & Wolf 'Glare' music video and 'Help, I'm Alien Pregnant' short film, and Claire van Beek’s ‘Daniel' short film. Alix has also Line Produced several projects for ambitious NZ producers, including Alex Liu’s recent scripted feature film ‘God Bless You, Mr Kopu’ and Kate Prior’s documentary series 'Chris & Eli's Porn Revolution’, and Series Produced four consecutive series of Day One Shorts.
Alix's aspiration has always been to work as a producer on high quality, creatively ambitious New Zealand Feature Films, and in pursuit of this she has Interned for the Producers on feature film 'Hunt For The Wilderpeople', Associate Produced feature film 'Stray' by Dustin Feneley, and Co Produced feature film 'Mega Time Squad' by Tim van Dammen.
Alix has been lucky to attend a number of incredible development initiatives run by Script to Screen, WIFT NZ, and the NZ Film Commission including a Masterclass by US Independent Producer Ted Hope at the first Big Screen Symposium, a year-long 'A-Z for Producing Course' lead by Australian Independent Producer Sue Maslin, a weekend Story Development Workshop lead by Australian Script Consultant Louise Gough, the Compton School 'Picture' Course twice with two different feature films, and the Screen Capability Certificate of Innovation Course.
Alix's primary focus at this stage of her career is Producing and Line Producing high quality ambitious Feature Films and Limited Series.
