Biography

José Sousa was a Spanish film director and producer who was based in Caracas, Venezuela. He was the co-owner of Xenon Films C.A. alone with his wife Yackeline Salazar, and together participated in more than 40 national and international film productions. Sousa moved to Venezuela when he was just 14 years old and started his carrier as a editor assistant for a commercial agency, then he made his jumped the documentary world as a director and script writer, his documentaries provided a rich knowledge of Venezuelan national artist such as Simón Diaz, Alirio Diaz, Luis Mariano Rivera, Indio Figueredo and more. Later he and his wife worked on growing Xenon Films by adding all necessary camera, lights and all professional equipment and team for filmmaking. He had two daughter Andrea Sousa who is an actress and Ana Patricia Sousa a film producer as well.
