- A music video is an artist's advertisement. A commercial sells laundry detergent and toothpaste, while a music video sells the artist and their lifestyle. The goal is to get them concerts and even more music videos.
- I grew up in a filmmaking family, so there were simply no other career options. I've been on film sets since I was five.
- I find it easier to work with a cinematographer thanks to my education. I speak the same language with them and can convey everything I want as a director. Every cinematographer has their own style, their own signature style. Before shooting, I envision 90 percent of the image, which is how I decide who to work with on each project.
- I don't try to do everything myself. There's this concept of 'director' - it's when one person tries to become an orchestra, but that doesn't work for me. It's hard to take on everything at once. I think it's impossible to combine everything in one person. It's much more reliable to assemble a team of professionals.
