Biography

Douglas Maxwell Myer

Mini bio

  • Douglas Maxwell Myer began his filmmaking career in 2004 when he started to make short films in a multimedia class during his sophomore year of high school in his hometown of Westford, Massachusetts. He became interested in finding more job-oriented work in making movies over taking classes then got the opportunity to branch off as a freelance filmmaker for Westford Academy's varsity and junior varsity teams of various sports including Football, Basketball, Hockey, Track and Lacrosse. During his junior and senior year of high school Doug produced 6 sports films ranging from twenty to forty minutes in length.

After high school Myer served as a production assistant for numerous film projects including productions for local commercials / shows in Central Mass, the History Channel, a Cyndi Lauper music video and a five-hour Frontline documentary called 'Kind Hearted Woman' that aired for two nights on PBS in April of 2013. Doug was also an intern at Rule Boston Camera during the summer of 2011 where he checked and maintained the company's camera equipment, made deliveries to clients throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island while also being given the chance to produce and direct his short film 'Natural Frescoes' as part of the internship's program.

From July of 2015 through March of 2024 Doug worked at MarketCast where he first started off as a research assistant taking part in trailer survey projects for hundreds of Hollywood feature films including Burnt, Crimson Peak, The Peanuts Movie, The Girl on the Train, Logan, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Only the Brave, Darkest Hour, The Greatest Showman and Green Book. He later worked as a content security freelancer for the company monitoring social media posts on various platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok, Youtube and Twitter for any illegal pre-released materials of Hollywood movies with Universal Studios being the main client. Some of these movies included The Bad Guys, The Black Phone, Fast X, Jurassic World Dominion, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Oppenheimer, The Wild Robot and Wicked.

During his time at MarketCast Myer began helping out as a Producer for independent productions including Wild Men, Everything's Fine, Son of Cornwall and Seven Sentinels. He is also an indie author where most of his works of writing are released on DeviantArt such as Sparkly Sight, All Will Come Clear To You, Lonely Cry the Wolf and Unvanquished Sierras. Since 2024 Doug has done various freelance camera work with Keller Williams Realty, Holiday Photos at JCPenney Portraits, Passion 4 Dancing, PostureFlow, Next Level Video and a few baseball broadcasts at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Myer currently works as a freelance camera operator shooting sports broadcasts for College of the Holy Cross and the Worcester Red Sox which have aired on ESPN+, FloSports, NESN and NESN+.
