Sebastian Laskowski is a Vancouver-based composer who writes music for various ensembles, ranging from string trio to choir to orchestra, and creates acoustic and electronic scores for film, theatre, contemporary dance, and visual art installations. The Telegraph has described his music as "bluntly energetic" and states it "[doesn't] last long enough to become bludgeoningly tedious". He received his formal training in piano and theory through the Royal Conservatory Music, studied composition and computer music at Simon Fraser University, and completed a Master of Music degree at Goldsmiths, University of London. His music has been presented both locally and internationally, including Sonic Boom (Vancouver), Progkunstfestivalen (Oslo), Tête à Tête: The Opera Festival (London), and Future Shorts Japan (Tokyo).
