Born in Bellevue, Washington (a suburb of Seattle), Matt attended
school at Thomas Academy in Auburn, Washington and graduated from
Kentwood High School in Covington, Washington. While in high school, he
performed on stage in the Nutcracker Ballet, as well as a variety of
musical and theatrical productions which included Shakespeare's "A
Midsummer Night's Dream" and Stephen Sondheim's "Into the Woods". A
life-long interest in film, high school projects opened the door to
writing, directing, producing and acting in many high school and
college projects.
He began his college education at Bellevue College in Bellevue, Washington, and majored in film at Brooks Institute in Ventura, California, graduating in 2011 - receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Film and Video Production.
