TRAFFICKING follows the investigations of a special police unit and takes us to realms in the Danish sex industry where only police, sex workers, and traffickers move. Through phone taps and surveillance, street actions and detective work, the police are constantly searching for witnesses and evidence to help them hunt down the criminals behind prostitution. But this is easier said than done. The police have to work within a legal framework that is often politically manipulated, and reality can be more complicated than you might imagine. TRAFFICKING examines the conflict between the intentions of the police special unit and the globalized world of migration and poverty.

Sine Plambech is an anthropologist and award-winning film director of Heartbound (World premier at TIFF 2018) with Janus Metz, Love on Delivery (2008) with Janus Metz, Ticket to Paradise (2008) with Janus Metz, Trafficking (2010) with Judith Lansade and Becky's Journey (2014). She documents international migration, sex work and human trafficking. Based in Copenhagen and New York she is a Senior Researcher at the Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS).
