Biography

Thiago Duar is a composer and sound designer for films, television and audiovisual media, based in São Paulo (BRA).

Since 2006, has been working the path of sound and its multiple aspects, whether through cinema ("Piedade" Dir. Claudio Assis - Winner of the Special Jury Prize at the 2019 Brasilia Festival), short films ("All Day All Night" - Dir. Del Reginato - Vimeo Picks Awards) documentary ("Graffiti Fine Art" - Dir. Jared Levy- Winner of the NYC Metropolitan Film Festival - Best Documentary Short, 2011), animation ("Mitos Indigenas em Travessia" Dir. Julia Vellutini - Winner of the Brazilian Cinema Grand Prix - Best Animated Short Film of 2022), music video (" Mariô" - Criolo), contemporary dance ("Cão Sem Plumas" - Dir. Deborah Colker - Winner of the Prix Benois de la Danse Award, Moscow, 2018) and TV series (A Garota da Moto - Dir. Joao Daniel Tikhomiroff - SBT, Fox Life, Amazon).

Thiago is also a multi-instrumentalist, and recorded and toured with artists like Claudya (one of the greatest Brazilian Jazz singers from the 70s), Mental Abstrato (a hip hop instrumental group with albums released in Japan and US) and Jorge Du Peixe (poet and composer, vocalist of Nação Zumbi).
