Nich Perez

Nich L. Perez is a Filipino-American filmmaker and educator whose cinematic practice is rooted in the belief that film grain and pixels are created through relationships, carving narratives through the lens of empathy and community. As founder and director of the Nonprofit Film Collective, a grassroots group of storytellers, ‘Nick’ and his team partner with nonprofits, communities, students, and institutions to tell meaningful stories that spark positive change. His work moves fluidly across traditional boundaries, producing media that captures beauty, inspiration, and authenticity within an ever-evolving media landscape. Through his lens, these projects sit at the intersection of social justice, human rights, and creativity, using media arts as a powerful tool to challenge assumptions, inspire conversation, and educate through cinematic storytelling. His latest feature-length films explore small-town America, race, food, and culture, offering a poignant and powerful meditation on belonging, identity, and what it means to be American.
