Biography

Orlando Pérez Rosso is a Colombian composer based in Los Angeles whose work spans supernatural features, studio animation, prestige television, and silent film restoration. His scores integrate orchestral writing with processed Latin American folk instruments and experimental sound design, creating a voice that is both distinctly personal and cinematically expansive.

His feature credits include Simbiontes (2026), a supernatural Colombian feature shot in Los Estoraques, for which he received a grant from New Music USA's Reel Change Film Fund to produce the score, and Mooned (2023), Illumination Entertainment's theatrical short that premiered alongside Migration at Universal Pictures. He composed Episodes 3 and 4 of Tim Burton: Life in the Line (2024), a four-part docuseries for Wood Entertainment, and scored the Universal Pictures silent film restoration 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1916), for which he was named a 2021 BAFTA Breakthrough US honoree.

As an additional music contributor, Pérez Rosso has worked across some of the most acclaimed projects of the past decade, including Jordan Peele's Get Out, Us, and Nope, Lucasfilm's Star Wars: The Acolyte, and the Emmy-nominated HBO documentary Allen v. Farrow. He is an alumnus of the Universal Pictures Composers Initiative and has received nominations from the Hollywood Music in Media Awards, Soundtrack Cologne, and the Jerry Goldsmith Awards. He holds a BA in Music from Javeriana University in Bogotá and studied film scoring at UCLA Extension.
