John Pizzigoni

John Pizzigoni, from Green Brook, New Jersey, by way of Staten Island
and Brooklyn, New York, began acting in 1977 at Raritan Valley
Community College (RVCC). Under the instruction of Dr. Stanford Kopit,
John first appeared as Giles Corey in Arthur Miller's, The Crucible.
Ten years and family begun later, John came back to bring his comedic
and musical flair back to the stage. He appeared in the New Jersey
Renaissance Festival from 1990 to 1992 as Menelaus in the Ten Minute
Trojan War. He came back to RVCC to appear in Front Page (1991) as
banjo playing newspaper man, and as a Marx brother channeling Faker
England in Room Service (1992). John, beginning to show a more dramatic
side, appeared in 1994 as Tony in Fatal Attraction at Somerset Valley
Players (SVP). John returned to RVCC to receive further instruction and
tutelage from former professor and director, Dr. Kopit and Ms. Danielle
Barry. He was directed by both, respectively, in a series of
performances as Hal Carter in Inge's Picnic (1995), Officer Hanlon in
Susan Slept Here (1997), Lysander in Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's
Dream (1998), Manolo in the female version of Neil Simon's The Odd
Couple (1999), and a repeat performance in The Crucible (2002), playing
Reverend John Hale. John delivered a powerful performance as Stanley
Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire in 2003, and appeared as Father
Dropney in Don't Drink the Water (2004) and as Petruchio in
Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew (2005). John's 2007 performance of
Stosh in Stalag 17 at SVP earned him the NJ Perry Award as Outstanding
Featured Actor in a Play, directed by Roy and Danielle Barry. He
continued to work with the Barry's, appearing as Antonio in Overtime: A
Modern Sequel to the Merchant of Venice, and as the maniacally driven
Max Prince in Laughter on the 23rd Floor (2008). John finished 2008
appearing as The Colonel in Without a Cue's murder mystery/dinner
theater production of Who Killed the King of Rock and Roll. Circle
Theater welcomed John as Eddie in Neil Simon's Lost in Yonkers (2009),
Von Strack in Amadeus (2010) and Ruckley in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's
Nest (2010). John has also appeared in fledgling company, The Turning
Leaf's production of A Comedy of Errors and a series of one act
performances created by The Porch Room. John joins Joe Rodriguez in a
short film, Roadside Picnic, directed by Joe DeVito III.
