Whit Whitman is an award-winning filmmaker, producer, and educator based in Danville, Kentucky. A creative force with over three decades in entertainment, he has built a career defined by adaptability-shifting from tabletop game publishing to Hollywood acting to independent film production-while maintaining one clear mission: to make professional-quality filmmaking accessible to everyone.

Born in Fort Knox and raised in Brandenburg, Kentucky, Whit began as a football player and graphic designer before creating his first company, Whit Productions, in 1989. His debut role-playing game Mutazoids gained national recognition and launched a long career in creative publishing, including leadership roles at TSR (Dungeons & Dragons), Imperium Games (Traveller), and Games Unplugged magazine.

After years of success in publishing and art production, Whit turned toward performance. As an actor, he appeared in hit series and films, including The Walking Dead, Baby Driver, The Fate of the Furious, The Haves and the Have Nots, and Star. He also created and starred in the cult fantasy comedy series Brothers Barbarian.

In 2018, Whit founded Little Monsters Entertainment, an independent studio focused on micro-budget filmmaking and creative education. The company has since produced a growing slate of feature films and shorts, including:

Murder by Association (2025) - Detective Hall faces moral reckoning in the wake of a billionaire's murder. Premieres November 2, streaming on Amazon, Apple TV, and Tubi.

Unnatural (2024) - A horror-thriller exploring the limits of human experimentation.

Smokee (2026) - A gritty Southern drama shot entirely in Kentucky.

12 Till Dawn, Seniors with Shotguns, Love Zombies, The Wrestling Movie - part of LME's ongoing "Education Through Production" initiative, where aspiring filmmakers learn by working on live sets.

Through LME's Community Film Collaborative and the School of Cinematic Arts LLC, Whit has trained hundreds of actors and crew members, creating paid and volunteer opportunities across central Kentucky. His model blends real-world film experience with mentorship, helping young creators build reels, resumes, and connections while contributing to professional-grade productions.

Whit continues to expand LME's reach through partnerships with streaming distributors, regional film offices, and community organizations. His films are notable for their emotional realism, visual intensity, and commitment to storytelling through pressure rather than spectacle-a philosophy rooted in his proprietary Atlas Framework and Emotional Truth Engine, which he now teaches to other filmmakers.

From building RPG worlds in the 1980s to directing modern genre films in his home state, Whit Whitman's career embodies creative reinvention. He remains one of Kentucky's most prolific independent filmmakers, dedicated to turning local stories and emerging talent into global cinema.

He worked for TSR, Inc. (makes of Dungeons &amp; Dragons) as Convention Coordinator. He ran the Gen Con Game Fair 1994 &amp; 1995.

Studied art in college, and planed to be a high school art teacher.

Whit co-founded Imperium Games in 1995, which was then purchased by Sweetpea Entertainment in 1996.

Whit is one of the major developers of Marc Miller&#39;s Traveller (also called T4), a paper-based Role-playing game, released by Ken&#39;s co-founded company, Imperium Games.

Whit has designed and developed over 50 paper based games. Including the Three Stooges card game &amp; Sergio Aragone&#39;s Groo card game.
