Biography

Meire Fernandes

Mini bio

  • Meire Fernandes is the founder of MAB+, an OTT streaming platform. She is an award-winning producer born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. She worked at Sony Pictures Television, where she launched Crackle in 18 countries across Latin America, including Brazil. She began her career in the entertainment industry in 1995 as a Programming Coordinator at Fox Latin America. Passionate about development, production, and programming, she founded the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival (LABRFF) and the Brazilian Film Market (BFM) in 2007. These accomplishments have given her extensive experience in identifying creators and securing opportunities for filmmakers and producers, fostering long-term relationships with theatrical distributors, channels, and digital platforms.

She has negotiated and managed complex output deals with various players, sales agents, and distributors. While at Sony Pictures, she introduced the "Cinema Green" concept-a project that challenged Brazilian film students to tell personal environmental stories by producing short films for Crackle, using only recycled materials during the filming process.

As Head of Development & Executive Producer, she has worked on numerous international projects, including feature films and TV series. Her latest project was the feature film "Single Almost Crazy", released in theaters in Brazil in 2020. In 2017, she produced the music video "Milk & Honey" by Aloe Blacc, directed by Kondzilla, which has garnered over 3 million views on YouTube. Most recently, she wrote the book "Lucas Oats and the Secret of 404", which she adapted into a TV series currently in development.
