Biography

Kayano wanted to work in a job that would involve "healing people", which led to initially take up a course at a vocational school, and later on she worked in the beauty industry. She became interested in anime after watching Aria: The Animation (2005) on television after coming home from work, and later on she decided that she wanted to become a voice actress. While attending a voice acting school, she continued to work in the beauty industry in order to pay for her tuition.

She and her fellow voice actors Mutsumi Tamura, Hisako Kanemoto, and Chinatsu Akasaki, who were all born in the same year, call themselves the "87 Club" and go on trips together.

Her first regular role was as Itsuwa in Toaru Majutsu no Index II.

Her nickname "Kayanon" came from the Anohana radio show, since at the time she hasn't got any nickname. At the next episode of the radio show, she got around 100 suggestions for her nickname, and she chose "Kayanon", and that nickname would stick.

She received the Best Newcomer Award at the 6th Seiyu Awards in 2012.
