Born and raised in Moura, Queensland, Ashley Pardey began his career in broadcast media. He landed his first television job as a news camera operator for Seven Local News (1990) Seven Local News (1990) in Rockhampton and Townsville.
He pursued his interest in narrative filmmaking in 2012, moving to Brisbane to attend the Queensland School of Film & Television. He later transferred to QPIX, graduating with a Diploma in Screen and Media in late 2013.
Since graduating, Ashley has worked extensively across the Queensland film industry. His credits range from independent local features like Australiens (2014) and Charlie’s Farm (2014) to major international studio productions, including San Andreas (2015) and Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and also some commercial work.
Operating under his production label, Ashfall Entertainment, Ashley has produced a variety of short film content. His producing credits include Brothers (2015), the successful crowdfunding pitch trailer for Long Shadows, and the drama short The Childeater (2021). He also took on the role of Director for Betty Boo (2015). Occasionally stepping in front of the camera, he appeared in a supporting role in Swot (2012).
Ashley’s work has been recognised on the festival circuit, specifically by the Australian Screen Industry Network (ASIN) Awards. He won Best Producer for Disc of Love (2015) and has received seven nominations from his industry peers.
Ashley is developing a script for a new psychological drama, with production slated for 2026.
