Biography

  • Alex D'Antona (Taranto, May 19, 1987) is an Italian independent film director, screenwriter, and actor, currently a university student at DAMS in Bari.

In 2014, he embarked on his journey as a theatrical actor with the Mola-based company "Tuttinscena - Cultura & Spettacolo," where he challenged himself by taking on completely different roles, ranging from the hunchback Iago in Aladdin to the Cat in Pinocchio. His first role in cinema came in 2016 when he portrayed the ghost of an old lady in the film "Haunted" by Funny Dreamers Production, which had international distribution. He continued collaborating with Funny Dreamers on "Clownery" and simultaneously joined L/D Production Company as a cast and crew member for projects such as "The Last Heroes," "Caleb," and "Hidden - Verita' Sepolte."

His debut as a director and screenwriter occurred in 2021 with "Applausi," a short film denouncing homobitransphobia in Italy. The film was conceived and produced in collaboration with Fabiano Tagarelli in response to the Senate's shelving of the DDL Zan. The synergy between the two directors was so strong that they formed a small collective, an informal production group called PAF! Production. In 2023, they realized their first feature film, "A Haunting in Council House", produced by V Channels Media in collaboration with Funny Dreamers Productions.
