He is an award-winning writer/director/producer known for The Other(Digari)- 2010, Private(Penhan)-2012, Snow(Barf)-2015, Boarding Pass(Karte Parvaz)-2017, and The Special Patrol(Gashte Vijeh) TV Series-2018. Mehdi's latest feature, Boarding Pass, premiered at Warsaw film festival on October 2017. Rahmani was also the Producer of the comedy movie,Temporary License (Gozar Movaghat). Mehdi Rahmani has 12 documentary and short film as a writer, director and producer in his filmography.

Mehdi Rahmani has been a jury member in Imagineindia Film Festival-Madrid(Spain) since 2019.

Mehdi Rahmani has been Academy Member in Asia Pacific Screening Awards since 2010.
