Mini bio

  • Conrad Wrobel is a Los Angeles-based filmmaker from the Pacific Northwest that labels himself with the moniker: Actor/Writer/Useful, due to his variety of occupations: actor, producer, comedian, film instructor, tree climber, etc.... Throughout his career he has been involved in a multitude of projects, from films to fundraisers to conventions.

Conrad was born and raised on Orcas Island, Washington. His first experience on the stage was at six-years-old in a community production of James and the Giant Peach where he played the Rhino. He started theatrical improvisation at the age of 8, performing in Destination Imagination competitive improv for schools. His team was well received and went to state, and continued to work through high school under the name, The Legion of Terror. They had the opportunity to work with many performers, including Ryan Stiles at the Upfront Theatre in Bellingham, Washington. At 14, Conrad found himself exploring stand-up comedy when his personal hero and local legend, comedian David Crowe, allowing him to try his hand on stage. At that moment he discovered his love for the challenge of comedy and has been writing ever since.

After graduating from high school, Conrad continued his study of communications at Whatcom Community College. During this time, he became a published author with his academic paper, "Rock the Vote." From there he went to Washington State University, graduating from the broadcasting program at the well-known Edward R. Murrow College of Communication. Whilst attending: he wrote and acted in two award-winning television comedy shows at the school's own Cable 8 Productions; performed on a weekly KUGR radio show, "The Appointment" as the character, Dr. Awesome; worked in set design in the WSU Theater; and performed and choreographed stunts in two independent feature films.

Since exiting college, he has performed and worked on a menagerie of feature films, television shows, commercials, broadcasts, and short videos. With a former classmate, he started his own production company, Rumored Productions, and developed and taught an annual youth "How to Make a Zombie Movie" class.

Currently, he continues to be involved in many Los Angeles-based projects, both in front and behind the camera.
