Victor Luo is a member of the Operations & Planning Software (OPS) Lab, leading research in Natural User Interfaces (NUI). Working with other NASA centers, he is developing technologies for commanding robots with simple body motions instead of complex controllers, and has demonstrated the techniques with both navigable robots and dexterous robotic limbs. He has experience in full immersion of the operator in the control environment using stereoscopic 3D and skeleton tracking. Mr. Luo is currently researching multi-user control of a hardware asset/model using combined input from different platforms (touchscreen, keyboard/mouse, body gestures, etc.).

In addition, Luo is managing partnerships with Mars Outreach and commercial vendors to create STEM related interactive experiences. Past experiences include planning & commanding of Mars spacecraft, operations of fractionated spacecraft, and 3D visualization of Mars terrain and rover telemetry.

His goal is to research and develop space exploration concepts with emphasis on human-computer interactions and natural user interfaces.
