Biography

Freddie Paull

Biography

  • Freddie Paull is a British filmmaker and Iris Prize nominee. In 2001, just weeks before 9/11, he and his family traveled to New York on a ship from Southampton, England, before settling in Arizona. He immediately took an interest in filmmaking and spent his free time in high school making short films and music videos with friends. When publications such as Time Magazine, Paper Mag, and the Guardian started mistaking his music videos for the official ones, he decided to take the career path seriously. In 2014, Paull met playwright and Hamilton cast member, Paul Oakley Stovall, with whom he has collaborated on 4 films. Their first film together was nominated for an Iris Prize, the UK's preeminent LGBTQ+ film award. In 2021, they began work on a spy thriller with Ecuadorian film star Danilo Carrera.
