- Ivo Müller Jr. was born in the Santa Catarina Island, Brazil, to Stella Maris Oliveira and Ivo Müller, both public workers. He is of Portuguese (mother) and Germanic (father) descent. He earned a B.A. in Law before abandoning his career in favor of acting.
Ivo's acting credits include a stage production of Twelve Angry Men, and Tabu, a critically-acclaimed, multi-award winning 2012 Portuguese movie that won the Critics Best Picture award at the Berlin Film Festival. Ivo has worked with studios including HBO, Sony, and Globo TV. Alongside his acting career, Müller worked as an acting teacher and producer. He is the acting coach in the awarded documentary Cine Marrocos (2018), where he coached homeless people and refugees living in an abandoned movie theater in São Paulo.

- At the age of 15, received a scholarship to an exchange student program in the US. His first acting lessons were taken during this experience abroad, when he went to learn English and wound up discovering himself as an actor.
- For Tabu (2012), Portuguese director Miguel Gomes wanted a Brazilian actor with stage experience. After long research he decided to cast Müller after watching videos of his performance in the play Letters to a Young Poet and his silent acting in a MTV commercial.
