Biography

Ellen Boscov appears in a recurring role on the Fox Entertainment TV series Best Medicine (2026), also available on Hulu.

Ellen has supporting roles in several upcoming films, including Burying Bubby, opposite Robert Smigel and Josh Cahn, directed by Eitan Levine and Gabriel Laks; and Anxieties: The Reporter's Disorder, directed by Anthony Aibel.

Additionally, Ellen stars opposite Nikki McKenzie in the sitcom pilot presentation Ethel & Ernie (2025) directed by Julia Wackenheim.

Ellen played Andy Kaufman's mother in Saturday Night (2024) starring Gabriel LaBelle and directed by Jason Reitman.

Being the real-life mother of filmmaker Amelia Xanthe Boscov is Ellen's favorite role and greatest honor. Ellen voiced the fetus in Amelia's film Tripping (2023), which stars Dot-Marie Jones.

Ellen also guest-starred on the PBS KIDS show Albie's Elevator (2023) and on Comedy Central Mini-Mocks Head & Breakfast (2023).

In addition to her Film and TV work, Ellen has performed in numerous productions at theaters across the country. And she has performed at many improvisation and sketch comedy venues, including as a member of the house team at Philly Improv Theater. She is a member of SAG-AFTRA and Actors' Equity Association.

Outside of performing, Ellen is a composer and a writer for stage and screen. She wrote the screenplay and lyrics and composed the original score for First Light (2020). This short animated musical fantasy directed by Amy Lee Ketchum was a 2021 award winner at the Academy Award®-qualifying Ann Arbor Film Festival.

Ellen is also the author of the full-length drama Roses in the Rocks that starred Rachel Bay Jones and was produced by Manhattan Theater Source in New York City.
