Lianne Spiderbaby was a writer for Fangoria, Famous Monsters of Filmland and Video Watchdog magazines. She worked on her first book, Grindhouse Girls: Cinema's Hardest Working Women©, about exploitation and horror actresses in the 1970s. Lianne was the host (and director/editor) of the popular horror web-show, Fright Bytes, and she appeared in the upcoming TBK: Toolbox Murders 2, directed by Dean Jones. Prior to writing for some of the most notable horror and genre publications, Lianne wrote for websites such as Buried, Bloody Disgusting, and The Horror Channel. She volunteered for Rue Morgue for several years, including a gig working as Herschell Gordon Lewis' personal assistant. Lianne has also been featured as the "Horror Hottie of The Month" at KillerFilm, and she was the August 2011 "Scream Queen of The Month". Lianne Spiderbaby holds an honors degree with distinction in Cinema Studies (specializing in film history, the representation of women in film, and grindhouse spectatorship theory) from the University of Toronto, and she divided her time between Los Angeles, California and Toronto, Ontario.

On July 23, 2013 it was confirmed that the overall number of writers whose work Lianne plagiarized to some degree or another was 35.
Besides plagiarizing other writers' work for various reviews and articles that she "wrote," Lianne also plagiarized other writers' work for her college thesis papers.
The Rondo Award Lianne won for her web series Fright Bytes was eventually rescinded in the wake of the plagiarism scandal. In addition, she withdrew her book Grindhouse Girls from St. Martin's Press.
Graduated from the University of Toronto in 2007 with honors in the department of Cinema Studies.
In July, 2013 it was discovered that Lianne's online reviews were plagiarized from other writers' work that she had attempted to pass off as her own writing. Moreover, it has been verified that articles Lianne wrote for the genre publications Fangoria, Video Watchdog, and Famous Monsters of Filmland also had plagiarized material in them. It was confirmed that Lianne has plagiarized various online reviews from over thirty writers in total. One of those writers was Joe Wawrzyniak (a.k.a. Woodyanders on the IMDb).

Even if you have five minutes and only something small you want to say, there is an outlet for it. As far as writing books, I would give myself personal deadlines. I gave myself two weeks per chapter, and when I'm writing full-time, I give myself four days per chapter.
