Biography

Marcomé (pronounced Mar-ko-may) is a Canadian singer songwriter. Gifted with a wide range voice, she blends lyrics with wordless languages that she calls wordpainting.

Marcomé acts as a producer and also arranges and engineers her musical work. She plays keyboards and surrounds herself with talented musicians in the process.

Marcomé worked in theatre and television, in both music composition and sound creation (CD mastering, live recording) Her impressive professional background has allowed her to work with renowned artists and producers such as Diana Krall, Cecilia Bartoli, Le Cirque du Soleil, Branford Marsalis, Sir George Martin, Tom Waits, Daniel Lanois, Pat Metheny and Yes.

Seven Seas: Marcomé 's first album Seven Seas, was released in Canada, USA, Europe, Asia and the Middle East in 1995. Co-produced in collaboration with Michel Robidoux who also worked with Frank Zappa, Seven Seas includes keyboards, fretless bass and traditional world beat instruments with Marcome's layered vocals. Marc Langis, on fretless bass, Michel Donato, on counterbass and Michel Dupire, on percussion enhances Marcomé's soothing voices.

The first single Yeku, got into the Top 50 radio airplay chart in the province of Québec and the related music video enjoyed significant airplay on the Canadian channel Bravo! and Musimax.

In 2001, Marcomé was joined Bruno Pelletier in a conceptual concert "Carte Blanche à Bruno Pelletier" for the Montreal's Francofolies, along with Maurane, Nathalie Choquette, Nanette Workman, and Louise Forestier.

River of Soul: Marcomé took some time off to raise her son and came back with River Of Soul in 2006. Again she co-produced with Michel Robidoux who also plays guitar on this album.
