Mark Forbes is an award-winning Scottish filmmaker from Aberdeenshire and an activist for working-class inclusion in the film and TV industries. His work explores social issues in contemporary Britain. His short documentary, MEMORIES OF MORTLAKE (2022) won international acclaim in the film industry and won multiple awards. He wrote, directed, produced, edited, co-filmed and co-financed his first feature drama, MOTHER & WILD (2022) His second feature film, the documentary, TRISTAN V CHRISTANN (2023) premiered at the Swedish International Film Festival and was screened at the 30th Portobello Film Festival in London, August 2025.
In July 2025 Mark's third feature film, the documentary, QUIET ON SET: THE CLASS DIVISION IN THE FILM INDUSTRY? (2025) had it's world premiere at the 37th Galway Film Fleadh in July 2025. It won a Social Impact Award at the Bournemouth International Film Festival in October 2025. It was screened at the 9th London Breeze Film Festival in October 2025 and was submitted to the British Independent Film Awards in late 2025.
In 2026 Quiet on Set was screened at the 9th Ramsgate International Film & TV Festival in March 2026.
Since May 2025, Mark has been filming his fourth and final feature documentary film.
