Baga Defente is a Brazilian poet, filmmaker, and multidisciplinary artist who embraces the poetics of chance to create experimental works exploring the intersections and boundaries between documentation, memory, and fiction.
With a prolific and diverse career spanning 15 years, Baga Defente has published two books (a poetry collection in 2021, a novel in 2023) and produced nearly 40 audiovisual pieces, including short films, video art, video poems, and music videos, exhibited in over 10 countries, earning recognition through awards and honorable mentions.
He is also the founder, director, and editor of NADA Studio Criativo, a mix of multimedia studio, cultural production company, and independent publisher.
