Biography

M.M. Rogers was born and raised in a suburb of Portland, but with a Portland address. He attended Lenox Elementary School, Evergreen Middle School, and Liberty High School.

Music, theatre, and film have been the biggest parts of his life. He started playing piano when he was 5, picked up saxophone at 10, and became section leader for the front ensemble (for both marching and winter percussion) in his last two years of high school. He continues to take music courses at Chapman and is considering minoring in music.

He has been involved in theatre since he was 11, beginning with classes at Oregon Children's Theatre and Northwest Children's Theatre. In his 7 year stint he appeared in shows like "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown", "Alice in Wonderland", "Cats", "The Wiz", "Chicago" and "Grease", and having main or supporting roles in shows like "Arsenic and Old Lace", "Scapin", "Pygmalion", "The Real Inspector Hound", "A Christmas Twist", "Oklahoma", "On the Town", "Bat Boy", and "Little Shop of Horrors". He was also a founding member of "Impulse", the improvisation troupe of Oregon Children's Theatre.

His love for film began in his sophomore year at Liberty when he took a class on broadcast journalism (including film production assignments). This brought him to a film production course in his junior year where he made music videos and co-created promotional shorts for Liberty's theatre program along with a six-episode television show. In senior year he anchored on the school news and simultaneously created, wrote, produced, directed, edited, and acted in several shorts for the student body. Ultimately, all this led to his current attendance at Chapman University in Orange, CA to major in film production.
