Betty Sulty-Johnson

Betty Sulty-Johnson is an independent distributor and producer based in Paris. She co-founded and co-directed the first festival dedicated to showcasing the work of Black women, both in front of and behind the camera, which ran from 2005 to 2009 in London. Her previous experience includes working in content distribution for France Télévisions Distribution, 100% Distribution, Lagardère Studios (now Mediawan), and Trace Studios. At Trace Studios, she played a key role in establishing a distribution entity specializing in the sale of Afro-centered content. While there, she also co-produced an animated series, Kenda, in partnership with Côte d'Ivoire, and a youth fiction series, Zetwal Caraïbes, filmed in Guadeloupe. She served for two years on the CNC's commission and is a member of the French Academy of Cinema Arts and Techniques (Les César). In June 2024, she founded Habebo Studios, a company specializing in the production and distribution of content focused on promoting diverse content in France and globally
