- In his free time, Michael develops photographs he took using 4x5" black and white film. He hand prints them in the darkroom on silver gelatin fiber-based paper.
- Michael picked up a baby rattle snake when he was just 18 months old while living in southern California.

- Was experimenting with Ansel Adams the Zone System in 7th grade.
- Has photographed alongside National Geographic photographers and Tom Mangelsen, of Images of Nature gallery.
