  • Irish actor Mícheál Óg Lane is 26 years old, from Galway. He is best known for his roles in John Michael McDonagh’s The Guard (2011), led by Brendan Gleeson and Don Cheadle, and Calvary (2014), alongside Brendan Gleeson and Kelly Reilly. He also appeared in an episode of Sky One’s Moone Boy (2012), created by Chris O’Dowd. A graduate of Gerry Grennell’s Bow Street Academy (2022) in Dublin, he is now based in Liverpool.

    More recently, Mícheál has appeared in The Damned (2024) alongside Odessa Young and Joe Cole, which premiered at Tribeca and is nominated for 9 Edda Awards. He featured in the IFTA-winning Irish-language horror Fréwaka (2024), which premiered at Locarno Film Festival and is directed by Aislinn Clarke. Both The Damned and Fréwaka received worldwide theatrical releases in 2025. Additional screen credits include Aymeric Nicholet’s BFI-funded short Fairview Park (2024), the television series Ros na Rún (2022-2025), and the feature film The Survivalist (2015), starring Martin McCann and Mia Goth.

    Fluent in Irish, Mícheál’s work spans both English and Irish-language productions, reflecting his versatility across genres and markets. Most recently, he played the lead role in The Romantics, a short film he wrote. Shot in Liverpool last summer (2025) and directed by Aymeric Nicholet, the film co-stars Shaun Fagan and is being submitted to festivals.

    He continues to develop film and television projects as an actor, writer, and producer. He works alongside collaborators Shaun Fagan, Aymeric Nicholet, and Joe Tapp, as well as emerging talent in the Merseyside scene. He will shoot further projects with these collaborators in the coming year.
