  • Stephen P. Sherwood is an award winning writer, director and editor. He directs the Southern Screenwriters Guild, and is the Founder & Festival Director of the Southern Shorts Awards International Film Festival, He has written numerous screenplays, including a three-part Science Fiction/Fantasy mini-series, several features, series pilots and short film scripts. He has Produced several of his short scripts into completed films, all of which have been featured in multiple festivals and have won awards. He is the inventor of the ScriptCast(TM), a multi-voice, dramatic read through of a screenplay using AI to produce character voices. He has also worked in the film industry as a Video Playback Supervisor on several feature films and TV series.

    Buying his first Super 8 camera in his teens, he produced short films in college, then joined the US Navy in 1977 where he trained as a Broadcast Journalist. Assigned as one of the Navy's eleven TV & MotionPicture Scriptwriters at the Combat Camera Group in San Diego, he received multiple awards for his work. He trained in screenwriting at the American Film Institute in Hollywood and the University of Southern California at San Diego. He left the Navy to work for a Japanese video production company (One Inch Video Productions) in Burbank, then took a job producing training videos for ARAMCO in Saudi Arabia. After returning to the US, he worked at an advertising agency, then spent another three years back in Saudi Arabia, then moving on to an interactive multimedia company in Miami. He resides in Roswell, Georgia where he produces films through his company, Bright Forest Productions.
