Roy Barker is an Australian actor, producer, and creative collaborator whose career spans film, television, theatre, and independent productions. Known for his versatility and strong character work, Roy has built a reputation for bringing authenticity, depth, and humanity to a wide range of roles across stage and screen. Roy's screen credits include appearances in feature films, television productions, and award-winning short films. His performances have ranged from dramatic and comedic characters to distinctive supporting roles in projects such as The Dressmaker, Blind Corners, Land of Honey, The Taverna, Real Melbourne, Detachment, The Pansy of Pickadee, A Little Resistance, and Commission Breath. His continued involvement in emerging Australian cinema reflects a passion for storytelling and collaboration with both established and up-and-coming filmmakers. An accomplished theatre performer, Roy has an extensive stage background. He toured China performing Shakespeare with the Australian Touring Opera Company and appeared as part of The Admirals in Melbourne's highly successful Pop-Up Globe 2017 season. In 2019, he portrayed Eric Miller in David Ireland's acclaimed play Cyprus Avenue at Sydney's Old Fitz Theatre, directed by Anna Houston. In addition to acting, Roy has worked as a producer and script consultant, contributing to the development of independent film projects.
