Biography

Vanessa Arcia

Mini bio

  • Originally from Costa Rica, she began her journey in theater in 2005. Since then, she has been involved in a wide variety of visual projects, including stage plays, commercials, short films, and television. In 2009, she traveled to Mexico, where she studied on-camera acting at Churubusco Studios and took screenwriting workshops at the Cuban Film School. While in Mexico, she also performed in theater and participated in several short films. Upon returning to Costa Rica, she continued her work in theater, even touring nationally with various productions. She also took part in short films that were showcased at both local and international film festivals, in addition to appearing in commercials for well-known Central American brands. In 2014, she decided to move to Los Angeles, where she has appeared in commercials for major brands such as Ulta Beauty, Duracell, and Alcatel, among others. She has also acted in short films featured in prominent festivals like LALIFF (with Legend of El Cucuy) and GALIFF (with "Legend of El Cucuy" and "I Am Still Here") in Georgia. In addition to acting, Vanessa has made her mark as a writer and producer. In 2008, she wrote and directed her first short film, "Palabras Rotas" (Broken Words). More recently, she created "Fixation", which she also acted in. The film was screened at multiple festivals and earned several awards, including Best Actress. "Fixation" is currently available on the Roku platform. Currently, Vanessa is focused on developing her own projects. She is working on her next short film and is also in pre-production for what will be her debut feature film, where she will serve as writer, actress, and producer.
