Fivos Kontogiannis is a Greek filmmaker, director, and screenwriter whose work spans fiction, documentary cinema, and television commercials. Raised in Athens, he studied Fine Arts in Greece before continuing his education in Italy, where he attended the Cinema, Theatre and Television Department of the University of Rome and graduated from the Nuova Universita del Cinema e Televisione at Cinecitta Studios. Early in his career, he gained extensive on-set experience as an assistant director on numerous feature films, helping shape his approach to storytelling and visual narrative. He later established himself as an independent director, writing and directing award-winning short films and documentaries that have been screened at international festivals. Among his most recognized works are the documentaries Athena Ex Nihilo (2013) and Spasmenos ihos (2022), both reflecting his interest in cultural and social subjects. Alongside his film projects, Kontogiannis has built a successful career directing television commercials and audiovisual productions, working between Greece and Italy. Fluent in both English and Italian, he continues to live and work in Athens, developing projects across documentary, narrative, and commercial filmmaking.
