Jan is an animation filmmaker & co-founder of German animation studio Woodblock.
After establishing himself as a CG artist, Jan studied Film & Animation at Germany's Filmakademie BW.
Here, he co-founded directors' collective Polynoid which wrote and directed short films such as '458nm' and 'Loom'.
His directorial work on short films has garnered top honors worldwide, including Ars Electronica's Golden Nica, Best-in-Show and Special Jury Honors from Siggraph and a VES Award.
He co-founded Woodblock Animation Studio and a phase of creative commercial work and music videos followed, including Emmy-nominated work for "Halo: Forward Unto Dawn".
His latest short film 'Bye Bear' was finished in 2023.
