French director and screenwriter, born in 1956 in Minsk, Belarus. He studied history at the Belarusian State University and then directing at the National Institute of Cinematography in Moscow (VGIK), where he obtained a certificate of assistant director. In this role, for 13 years he worked on about twenty feature films for the Belarusfilm and Mosfilm studios. In 1992 he moved to France, where he worked as a screenwriter and director of documentary films. He is the author of, among others: "The Rock Monologue" (2006), "Gagarinland" (2011), "Black Island" (2019).
