Richard has been an entrepreneurial innovator in British media for some 20 years, after careers in law and investment banking. Chief Executive of Blink TV, a TV production and distribution company specializing in live music content and on stage screen visuals, he is also Chairman of The Local Digital Company, a joint venture with local press groups developing interactive native advertising videos for brands and local advertisers.
He is best known for his resolutely commercial approach to local television, which started in the early nineties with his founding and running the Mirror Group's cable network of affiliated local TV stations opting out of a national programming spine. As well as a successful broadcaster, the business included a substantial TV production company, a premium rate telephone service provider, and an airtime sales house.
